Today we are meeting Matt who works in our Systems Administration Team. He plays a key part in bringing our new products to life and maintaining our infrastructure.
Meet Matt – Systems Administrator
While I was finishing my Diploma in Network Engineering, I had started working part-time at Digital Pacific during mid-to-late 2010 in a Customer Service role.
After a month of working at Digital Pacific, part-time shifts had turned into full-time shifts and I had deferred studying as I had realised that this was an ideal opportunity for me to establish a solid career with multiple paths for progression within Digital Pacific. I had also noticed that the the office environment was quite relaxed whilst being very productive, and everyone was very willing to take their time and explain almost anything in detail no matter how trivial it was.
Within a short period of time, I found my self working on Virtual Private Servers and Dedicated Servers, and I had also started taking on additional work such as Server Provisioning and Datacentre work due to the support that I had received from my peers. Within a year and a half (and a meeting with Management along the way), I was welcomed into the Systems Administrator team!
Through out the years working within the Systems Administrator team, Digital Pacific had adopted all different types of new technology and had sent several staff members, myself included, on training courses to further our knowledge which provided us with opportunities to take Certification Exams.
To this day, I still find my work very interesting as there is always something new and exciting to learn or play with!
